Digital Marketers use search engine optimization techniques (SEO) to help improve search visibility and utilise platforms such as Google Ads and Google Analytics. The role requires strong skills in communication, creativity and strategic thinking to develop effective marketing campaigns for business. Digital marketers are employed across a wide range of industries throughout Australia, from small business to large corporations. The average yearly salary for this role appears to range around $75,000 (Seek, 2024a).
Social Media Manager
A Social Media Manager focuses on creating and managing a business’s
social media presence across all the key platforms. The most common platforms
Social Media Mangers work with include Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn
and YouTube (Seek, 2024b). They are required to be efficient with photo and
video editing software’s, as well as graphic design tolls to creating engaging up-to-date
content (Seek, 2024b). Social Media Managers are responsible for running social media
campaigns and analysing performance, often collaborating with marketers and
management for consistent brand visibility. Currently, many clothing and retail
companies are employing Social Media Managers, with yearly salaries ranging from
$80,000 to $100,000 (Seek, 2024b).
Digital Communications Officer
The Digital Communications Officer also referred to as Digital
Communications Advisor, Digital Communications Coordinator or Digital Media Manager
is responsible for developing and overseeing various communication plans for businesses.
This includes managing and reviewing digital content for social platforms, digital
platforms, websites and email advertising (Seek, 2024c). This job requires
strong writing and planning skills for effective evaluating of strategies. Currently paying
around $85,000 a year, many local government councils are seeking Digital Communication
Officers to enhance public engagement and community communications (Seek, 2024c).
Digital Content Strategist
The Digital Content Strategist has the key role of directing
the digital narrative of a business. They have to make sure that all the
content is sending the correct message as is being targeted to the appropriate
audiences. Digital Content Strategies specifically focus on analysing audience
insights to enhance engagement (Seek, 2024d). The role involves being able to
make leadership decisions to ensure digital communication is coordinated (Seek,
2024d).
